Gretchen Anderson is an experienced information technology program manager with over 20 years of expertise in acquisition and personnel management, specializing in support for the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). In her new role as Director of the Department of Defense Programs, she brings a strong background in leadership and collaboration, utilizing a servant leadership methodology to accomplish missions successfully. Gretchen is highly organized, process-driven, and dedicated to delivering results.
From 2021 to 2024, Gretchen provided IT Program Management services to the VA. She also served as a Program Manager at the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) from 2012 to 2021. Notably, she transitioned from the Marine Corps Systems Command, where she held various IT Program Management roles from 2005 to 2012. She retired from the Federal Civilian Service in 2021 and is also a Marine Corps veteran with 20 years of honorable service.
Gretchen holds certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2009 and Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level III in both Program Management (2008) and Information Technology (2020). She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Strayer University and a Master’s degree in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma.
In her free time, Gretchen enjoys spending time with her family, relaxing at the beach, and conducting ancestry research, reconnecting with relatives.
